Recent HERDS COVID-19 isolation and census data for 10/28/2022 indicates that transmission of COVID-19 within your facility remains uncontrolled. In addition to continuing to practice all core principles of COVID-19 infection control practices as outlined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), NYSDOH recommends that you place a hold on all non-essential visitation in and all new admissions to your facility until such time that surveillance shows transmission is under control or has been stopped. A readmission from the hospital may be accepted provided the facility has the capability and capacity to care for the resident. Note that certain types of visitation cannot be suspended; please refer to CMS guidance for more details. Please continue to work with your regional epidemiologist regarding control measures and testing.
